Working Venice

As a working city of nearly 300,000 people, boats are used for supplies, deliveries, construction, garbage collection and anything else that autos and trucks are used for elsewhere. There are openings in the railings where walkways cross canals, and everything is transferred to/from handtrucks for the rest of the way.
