Venice Bus Terminal
Of course we had to watch the operations at the bus terminal for a few minutes. This large plaza has stalls for dozens of buses. It is located on the only Venetian island connected to the mainland by a roadway on a causeway. Once on this island, drivers park in massive garages, and bus riders walk over bridges to their destinations.
It's difficult to describe the constant flow of buses every few seconds, packed to the gills with tens of thousands of people: Venetian workers, tourists staying on the mainland, day trippers to/from Venice, and Venice residents getting to the mainland. Thousands of people of all stripes wandering around the bus plaza, but the people and bus drivers seem to be very skilled at avoiding each other.
